Although advertising is meant to make a company’s products or services appealing to others, a lot of times, these ads end up being more of a nuisance than anything else. Companies spend thousands of dollars on certain marketing objectives only to have people skip over the commercial or scroll right past the ad. With people able to recognize advertisements at first glance nowadays, how can companies make their marketing efforts stand out in a way that actually leads to sales?

Make Your Offer Urgent

In many instances, time is a massive motivator for individuals to take action. Your business could experiment with a new product or service that is limited only for a short amount of time. This will likely have more pull with your customers than a generic ad showcasing what you normally offer. With whatever it is you are trying to promote, don’t be afraid to experiment with limited-time offers. Think back to a time when your favorite restaurant brought back a fan-favorite dessert but advertised it for “only the month of April,” for instance. If you were interested enough in the product, the chances are that you decided to high tail it over to the restaurant once, if not many more times, during that month since you knew the dessert wouldn’t be around much longer. The same can be said for flash sales. Creating urgency often creates profit.

Brainstorm a Unique Call to Action

One of the best advertisements that have been initiated within the last couple of years is none other than that of the American pizza company Domino’s. This business emphasizes the following slogan in its commercials: “You get fresh, hot pizza delivered to your door in 30 minutes or less – or it’s free.” Why is this so clever? Well, it creates an initiative in the customers, many of whom may want to challenge this promise. Why not order a pizza and see if you could earn a free one if it takes longer than 30 minutes to arrive? At the end of the day, the customer is still getting a pizza, and more times than not, Domino’s will deliver the pizza on time and make a profit. This genius marketing tactic gives a call to action and also reinforces the importance of timeliness with its employees. Within your business, it is also possible to create a similar marketing strategy.

On top of these tips, you must also put yourself in your customers’ shoes and ask yourself whether you would even buy from your company if you saw your advertisement. What sort of marketing strategies are you drawn to? A business leader should know how to think like a customer, as this will help determine the type of digital ads you will produce and how successful they will be.
